Hong Kong is famous for shopping, especially for luxury goods and electronics. Due to its no sales tax or VAT and duty-free policy, you can save money buying popular products such as Apple iPhone and MacBook, DJI cameras, Samsung phones and more. Hong Kong also offers an incredible selection of luxurious malls, full of designer clothes, bags and accessories, which are often cheaper than in other countries. This is why people from Mainland China and from overseas choose to travel here to shop for luxury goods. But, realistically, is Hong Kong only for the rich and wealthy?
In today’s video, I will take you to explore different neighbourhoods of HK for different budgets and needs. We will even go to some flea markets and cheap neighbourhoods for secondhand goods and electronics. In this video, we will also visit some luxurious malls and discuss buying your latest iPhone, MacBook, DJI drone and cameras.
Join me on this shopping spree to the most popular shopping destinations in the city!
🛒 Places in this video are:
1. Causeway Bay
Vibrant retail area. Offers a mix of luxury malls, popular brands and independent boutiques, as well as globally known high street brands and drugstores. Also good for restaurants, food and beauty treatments, for different budgets, from expensive to affordable. Busy and lively, especially on the weekend.
2. icf Mall
This mall is based in Central, a perfect location for anyone visiting the financial hub of Hong Kong Island. The International Finance Centre mall is full of commercial shops and designer brands and it has a huge three-story Apple Store where you can buy tax-free iPhones and MacBooks.
3. Harbour City
The biggest shopping mall in HK. Located in Kowloon, in Tsim Sha Tsui, Harbour City offers the largest and most diverse shopping experience. It offers premium international brands, local and fine dining, electronics and more. This is the ultimate place to shop for people coming from the China Ferry Terminal, from Mainland China and beyond!
4. Mong Kok
This is where you can buy cheaper or secondhand electronics and clothes. I recommend Mong Kok for secondhand cameras, phones and laptops. You can also find affordable restaurants, street food markets to try local cuisine, pet stores, souvenirs, cheap clothes and accessories here.
