Unfortunately, road accidents are relatively common in the transportation industry. This is no different when it comes to oversized load transports, which—despite requiring meticulous planning and organization before, during, and after the move—are often the most dramatic when accidents occur, due to the sheer size of their cargo.
This was recently exemplified by an incident that took place in northeastern France. Sadly, a convoy transporting a chemical process furnace, weighing 165 tons, overturned on a busy bridge in a small French community, causing major logistical and economic disruptions. Although foreign machinery had to be brought in to resolve the situation, thankfully the issue was managed without severe consequences.
