Well, no one said keeping up a historic start was easy or simple. Multiversus was met with massive amounts of hype upon its announcement, and the excitement carried all the way into a record-breaking launch. But just half a year later, its momentum has collapsed, its growth has been stalled by numerous flaws, and its playerbase has dwindled to a fraction of what it once was.
So...what went wrong?
Let's look closely at how the game has done since last August, examining its content slowdown, the deep-seated issues with its fighters' movesets, and the problems inherent to its competitive-focused design and live service model that it's failed so far to address. Will the developers at Player First Games be able to right the ship before Multiversus becomes a dead game? We shall see.
