I think it was worth it... The inside of this bait was interesting/complex enough to warrant sacrificing one. It will not have been in vain. Many will now hold the "Restricted Jedi Master Level Library Section" kinda knowledge of the SwimBait making arts.
And it looks really good/interesting cut in half on display.
