What's the best way to finish MDF Edges?! I did 12 tests so you don't have to!

I've tried 12 different methods to find out what the best way is to finish MDF edges. And to be honest I was really surprised by some of these tests!

I think the most cost and time efficient is test number 3: Primer - sanding - primer - sanding - finish.

All 12 tests:
* Slap on paint
* Primer - sanding - finish
* Primer - sanding - primer - sanding - finish
* Diluted wood glue - primer - sanding - finish
* CA glue (or epoxy) - primer - sanding - finish
* Wood putty - sanding - primer - sanding - finish
* Normal putty - sanding - primer - sanding - finish
Bonus test 1: Paper tape?! Yes!
Bonus test 2: DIY edge band
Bonus test 3: Something special ;)
Bonus test 4: Brush on putty filler
Bonus test 5: Shellac
