USS Wisconsin was one of the most powerful battleships ever developed. No enemy ship or fortification could survive a direct hit from her powerful main battery of nine 16-inch guns.

After a brief but successful service in World War 2, she fought again in the Pacific, but this time, in Korea, against the invading Communist forces.

While Wisconsin, known fondly as Big Wisky by her crew, was decimating enemy positions in Songkin, she was hit for the first time since World War 2 with a North Korean 155-millimeter artillery shell.

Although damage was minimal, and only three sailors were lightly injured, Wisconsin unleashed a full salvo of her 16-inch main battery against the small enemy emplacement.

The enemy battery and its surroundings were obliterated, resulting in craters full of little more than rubble.
