London, 2024. Claire Jameson is directing a revival of little-known musical 'Jolly Joyce', and rehearsals aren't going well.

The actors are mixing work and pleasure; the stage manager's not happy with the venue; and a surprise guest in the rehearsal room stirs up some unwelcome history.

Claire is known as a formidable director, but there are some scenes you can't command your way out of, and this particular production is forty years in the making...
