Umm al-Baneen and Her Brothers narrates the difficult and challenging life of a nomadic family challenged by adverse circumstances. Their father is in prison due to an accident that resulted in a child being run over, which put a heavy burden on the family. Their mother, unable to take care of the children, decided to sell the sheep and eventually abandoned them.
Umm al-Baneen, as the older sister, does her best to take care of her brothers and keep them fed. With the help of viewers and the camerawoman, she manages to build a hut, but due to the lack of a permit from the government, she is forced to leave the place and now they live in a tent.
The days are difficult for these nomadic children. One day, the camerawoman comes to Alireza and realizes that he is lonely and sad. She cannot turn on the stove because of the cold and is worried about her siblings, Umm al-Baneen and Nayeb. The camerawoman kindly encourages her and turns on the stove. She decides to go with Alireza to the village to search for Umm al-Baneen and Nayeb, but no one in the village has heard from them.
Alireza returns to the tent in despair and waits. After a few hours, Umm al-Baneen returns to the tent with her hands full. She explains that she worked in a man’s house and received money and food for it. Alireza and the camerawoman ask her why she left without telling him, and Umm al-Baneen explains her reasons, apologizing that she was unemployed and decided to work to provide for her family.
This video not only shows the family’s resilience and efforts in the face of life’s difficulties, but also illustrates the importance of cooperation and empathy in facing challenges.
