In today's video, we're going to decide which Irish whiskey to buy for mixing cocktails! I've been mixing with the same affordable blended Irish whiskey for years, and decided it was time to put it up against some others in a taste test. There are some amazing Irish Whiskeys out there, but I wanted to keep it under $30 (US) to show that you don't need an expensive bottle to make a good drink. To help me pick the contenders, we took a poll to see what you'd recommend. The engagement was awesome - thank you to everyone who participated! Blended Irish whiskey tends to be very smooth, so it can be easily overpowered by modifiers like liqueurs and syrups in a cocktail. What I'm looking for is a whiskey that will stand up in a drink, so Az and I will sip and pick a bottle that I'll then use in next week's recipe! Sláinte!
