These two enduro bikes were both released in 2024, boast high-end carbon frames, sport MX wheels, and utilise lightweight drive unit systems to make them as agile and dynamic as possible. They even share exactly the same price – £8,499, even if one is available through a traditional dealer network and the other sells directly to the consumer. The bikes in question are the Mondraker Dune RR and the YT Decoy SN Core 4. Mondraker’s Dune uses the Bosch SX motor bolted to a chassis that features Mondraker’s famous Forward Geometry and its latest Zero suspension design, while the YT Decoy SN rolls up with the Fazua Ride 60 motor and an evolution of the V4L suspension design found on the classic full-fat Decoy. So we have two closely matched bikes that happen to ride completely differently on the trail. From the motor characteristics to the suspension performance, and the frame feel, these two rigs show that, no matter how well matched they might be on paper, it can be a completely different story on the trail. We tested these bikes in Portugal, Austria, BikePark Wales, Forest of Dean, and the Surrey Hills over the course of several months.
