Keith Cooper looks at why just choosing test packs of well known premium brands of paper is the last thing you should do when getting a new Epson EcoTank ET-8550 13"/A3+ printer.
Keith looks at using the correct ICC profiles and why without them, an expensive paper is likely just wasted. Keith has produced some profiles during testing, but it's important to note that they are only for he exact papers tested (listed in his 8550 review notes).
Careful choices of paper can yield excellent prints, but any new printer needs a reliable approach to paper testing.
Starting off with Epson papers (supported by the printer) and then choosing third party papers that come with ICC printer profiles will save a lot of frustration, wasted ink and wasted paper.
