Since the release of The Witcher 3, we've seen dozens of other big open-world projects. But most of the games were just bad. The game worlds not only remained the same as they were 10 or even 15 years ago... but they degraded.
But why? Why did the big game studios that once created new standards for open-world games just start creating big maps that made no sense?
