Video Not Working? Fix It Now

This video gives my answer to the question "Why did Moodle integrate BigBlueButton into its core?"

While the delivery of online virtual classes for education and training has expanded globally, most classes are hampered by using generic video conferencing tools that limit engagement. The problem: the virtual class becomes a passive experience that fails to achieve the fundamental goal of education: improving learning outcomes.

As we say in the BigBlueButton project, the classroom is not a boardroom.

In contrast, BigBlueButton takes a pedagogy-first approach. Specifically, it provides built-in tools for active learning and live analytics to ensure every student stays engaged and achieves success. In this video, I cover how this approach works and how our deep integration with Moodle saves educators and students time and effort to achieve the goal of improving learning outcomes.

Fred Dixon is the CEO of Blindside Networks and the co-founder of the BigBlueButton project.

About the BigBlueButton Project:

Our global mission is to make quality education available to every student on the planet. This mirrors UNESCO's fourth sustainable development goal: Quality Education and underpins the other UNESCO's 17 sustainability goals. It’s our goal as well.

To achieve this goal, we created BigBlueButton, an open-source virtual classroom that is now localized into over 55 languages (thanks to our global community). BigBlueButton's users include educators, students, educational institutions, commercial companies, and sovereign nations.
