Have you ever wondered why Union Pacific went for some of the largest locomotives in the world? I hopefully have some answers for you! In this video, I examine the history of Union Pacific's motive power purchases and the reasons the railroad had for making them. This was a topic that came up in my research for an upcoming project and I thought I would share my thoughts on it.
