Despite looking... like it does 👀 Hoodwinked surprisingly made roughly 14 times its budget at the box office
But what’s even more astonishing is the story behind how this film was made. With a modest budget of about $8 million, Hoodwinked became one of the first fully CGI films to be independently funded. Achieving this on shaky 2005 hardware was no small feat—it was so challenging that even the director, Cory Edwards, admitted the odds of pulling it off were almost laughably slim.
That’s why I sat down with Cory to delve into the incredible challenges they faced—not just the literal oceans they crossed to get it done, but also why the movie looks the way it does. We talked about how Harvey Weinstein became involved at the eleventh hour and the impact his involvement had on the final product.
