In this video, I share the reasons why I could no longer believe in Sola Scriptura—the idea that the Bible alone is the sole authority for Christian faith and life.
At first, it seemed like a noble idea. But the deeper I looked into the history of the Church, the canon of Scripture, and the role of tradition, the more I realized: Sola Scriptura is self-defeating and very self-contradictory. The Bible itself was compiled through the Church—through liturgy, apostolic tradition, and sacred worship.
In this video, I touch on:
The canon problem (How do we even know what books belong in the Bible?)
The authority of the Church vs private interpretation
Paul’s command to preserve oral tradition
Why Protestantism lacks a unified authority
What Scripture itself says about the Church and truth
And how these questions ultimately led me to the ancient Orthodox Church.
If you've ever asked
“How do I know the Bible is reliable?”
“Who has the authority to interpret Scripture?”
“Why are there so many denominations?” Then this video may be helpful for you.
