The Fastest mountain bike wheels on the planet are build with very special spokes. Both Men's and Women's MTB XCO Olympic Gold Medalists where riding wheels with ''Berd'' spokes. A flexible string spoke that's lighter and stronger than steel and has another very important characteristic: Vibration dampening. What do the XCO OLYMPIC GAMES and Cape EPIC have in common? As I was racing Cape Epic in Africa this year I needed very strong and compliant wheels. In this video I will show you how my set of these wheels was built and what are the important steps doing so.
