From the giant potentially maneating haast eagle to the 500 lb armless moa New Zealand was only recently home to some of the coolest birds to ever walk the Earth. On top of such popular giants New Zealand was also once home to a verity of other incredibly unique smaller birds such as the laughing owl, New Zealand owlet nightjar, and the adzebill. While New Zealand is still home to a multitude of incredibly rare and unique birds today; such organisms still pale in comparison to the ones seen only a few hundred years ago. So why not talk about some of my favorite extinct birds!!!
