At the time, critics, fans, and even his fellow #Beatles heavily chastised the release, particularly remarking on how strange and overly-indulgent it was. Nearly 50 years later the retrospective reviews of RAM show nothing but critical acclaim and reverence for what many critics call the birth of the #IndiePop sound and ethos.
