In the 1970s Fiat was doing well in the USA.. but by the beginning of the 80s it was forced to withdraw from the market completely. The 124 Spider, basically a baby Ferrari, lauched in 1967 was partly responsible for Fiat's success in the early 70s but eventually also led to Fiat's demise.
