Matthew Golden is a Green Bay Packer, which is a surprise to many following the 2025 NFL Draft. The Packers haven't drafted a wide receivers in the 1st round in 23 years, but now is the time to break that seal by adding to Jordan Love's skill position room. Matt LaFleur & the Packers offense is one that amplifies every one of Matthew Golden's top skills as a wideout when at Texas. And adding him into the mix with guys like Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Christian Watson when returning, rookie Savion Williams, etc. Couple that with the running game in Josh Jacobs & Marshawn Lloyd, there's plenty of promise.
The Packers defense is expected to showcase improvement as well. With building off a first year in a new Jeff Hafley system, Rashan Gary, Kenny Clark, Quay Walker, Edgerrin Cooper, Xavier McKinney, Evan Williams, etc. will look to climb the ranks of defensive units with additions in rookie Barryn Sorrell & Nate Hobbs. All in all, the 2025 Draft was a surprising one for Green Bay, but could very well be a worthwhile one.
