Why Would You Even Buy Men of War 2?

This game is really just a combination of baffling decisions. There's so many of them, chief among them obviously being always online with a supposed future patch instead of just waiting for the patch before releasing. This feels a game ruined more by poor design rather than poor programming, with intentional features like the Control Point lockout being a problem. It's also competing with multiple other games given that MOWAS 2 is still active and played, Gates of Hell is a thriving modern version of MOW and if all you care about is singleplayer than there's LOADS of Men of War titles you could buy for dirt cheap (like I saw, Red Tide was $1!) and get roughly the same experience as MOW2 offers. There's so little actual advancement in terms of mechanics, instead regression in some areas, and it's not like the game looks or sounds significantly better than old titles, and certainly not against a modern title like Gates of Hell. It feels like an attempt to capture a more arcadey audience instead of appealing to the realistic roots of Men of War, similar to COH3 & DOW3.
