The other kill joy is saturation, also known as motor stall and it happens when the moving part of the motor extends the best it can but you keep pouring energy into it.
You can also do this if you or some sort of object is resisting the motor like air or a back of a seat or a small baby putting it's face in front of the cone really hard.
