Not far from the Triberg waterfalls, anyone who visits Olis Schnitzstube can experience craftsmanship live. In his store it ticks, whirs, clicks, whistles and cuckoos. It smells of fresh wood, which the wood sculptor Oliver Zinapold processes into the trademark of the Black Forest: Cuckoo clocks. Since 1999, the 48-year-old has been making cuckoo clocks according to old traditions, making him one of the last carvers of traditional cuckoo clocks.
