Welcome to this handspinning addition to my Wild Cottage Ireland crafting & knitting podcasts! In this video journal / vlog I'm preparing my fibres - all Irish wool & alpaca, - and starting to spin on my electric spinning wheel for Cary's of @My Wool Mitten's sock spinalong. The handcarders I'm using have a nice story behind them connected to Nollaig na mBan (that means Women’s Christmas In Irish )
which I hope you enjoy. I'm using an Ashford espinner 3 to spin the yarn, and I tell you about the specific type of sock yarn I'm aiming to spin on it.
The first video in My Wool Mitten's sock spin along series is here: https://youtu.be/rM3dA6shu-c
she has plenty of tips and explains how she spins yarn for socks. She's much more experienced than I am! Do watch her podcast, she also has a small Flock of sheep 🙂
