Today we are testing a budget hot tent stove, the Deerfamy tent stove. This is an item that is available as one of the cheapest hot tent stoves on amazon. I've always wondered about the safety of the cheapest tent stove on amazon and this one does have some hot tent safety concerns, but overall does a good job as an entry level hot tent stove.
The Deerfamy tent stove is a budget hot tent stove that is best suited for casual use and entry level winter campers. This cheap Amazon hot tent would be fine for weekend trips and fine to use in small hot tents only, as the flu pipe does not have extension sections available to accomodate bigger tents.
The spark arrestor on this budget tent stove is the biggest safety concern. The hot tent stove flu pipe has a long spark arrestor with holes that are just too big to effeciently stop sparks. This poses an increased risk of igniting your tent on fire. I do recommend a tent stove modification of the spark arrestor for maximal safety.
