Wim van Beek studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He gained his final diplomas for organ and piano with distinction. He held a teaching post at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and at the Conservatory of Groningen. He has been the Martini Church’s organist ever since 1956. Wim van Beek has performed in most European countries. Besides, he has performed as a solo organist with symphony and chamber orchestras.

Because of the position of the organ in the church, the rugpositiv sounds direct, the manual, brustpositiv and the pedal less direct. In this recording we have tried to capture this plasticity as well as possibility. We used therefore not more than two (DPA Bruer & Kjear 4006)
