"I opened the door of the hotel where I had booked a room in advance. My clothes were all frozen because I had to walk about 8 miles in such severe winter weather with a snowstorm. There was no one at the reception. As per the instructions when booking, I took my key to room 307, and went up the stairs to the third floor. The wooden staircase creaked as I walked up the steps. This hotel was very old, it seemed to me that it was 100 years old. I went up to the door, then inserted and turned the key in the lock. The door was open, I went into the room. It was a modest, but very cozy room. The interior was made of wood and stone. In the middle of the room there was a double bed, opposite it was a wood-burning fireplace. The large panoramic window offered a beautiful view of the forest and a couple of other hotels. The first thing I did was light the fireplace to warm myself up and dry my clothes. Half an hour later the room was already warm and cozy. Now I really wanted to eat and sleep. I knew there was a cafe on the first floor of the hotel. Hunger overcame my desire to sleep, so I went downstairs in the hope of finding this cafe. I didn't meet anyone at the reception, and the whole hotel seemed empty, and I was the only visitor here. After walking a bit along a narrow corridor, I finally found a cafe. The variety of food here was modest, but it was enough for me. I took mashed potatoes with cutlets, a salad and compote with a donut. There was a middle-aged woman at the checkout. Without saying a word, she accepted the payment and I went to the table to have dinner. After dinner, I went upstairs to my room again. On the way I also did not meet anyone, it seemed strange to me. In the room I lay down on the soft bed and, listening to the sound of the burning fireplace, looked out the window. Outside, a real winter storm was raging, a strong wind was blowing and everything around was covered with snow. How good it is that I got to the hotel and am now safe, I thought. After ten minutes of thinking, my eyes began to close. I covered myself with a blanket and fell asleep. The fireplace was still burning, making my sleep even sweeter and more comfortable."
