Follow us inside an old terracotta manufacturer in Impruneta, Tuscany. See how the amphoras are born inside the Manetti Gusmano & Figli furnace (yes, there's a connection to the Fontodi winery in Panzano). The clay comes from the property caves characterized by a high concentration of Galestro, the typical soil of Chianti. 7% water is added and the clay is then manually formed into the most beautiful "orci" or amphora that will later be an everlasting container for wine, making it a pretty sustainable choice for wineries.
