The food and drinks suppliers have always been some of the most important warrant holders to the palace. One of the fist monarchs to provide Royal Warrants was King George IV who used to entertain on a grand scale, turning his new London home Buckingham palace into the gastronomic centre of England. His wine supplier then, and still providing wines and spirits to the Royal Family today, are Berry Bros & Rudd.
Berry Bros & Rudd, founded Widow Bourne in London in 1698, is Britain's oldest wine and spirit merchants, and one of the ten oldest family-run businesses in the UK.
