Winter Crabbing Challenge: Snow, Tides & Big Blue Crabs!

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Just days after a snowstorm blanketed the coast, we set out on a winter crabbing adventure like no other! The February chill was still in the air, but with back-to-back sunny days, we knew the tidal stream might just come alive with hungry blue crabs. Armed with ring traps and chicken legs, we braved the cold, eager to see what the icy waters had in store. Winter crabbing is always a challenge—cold temperatures slow down the crabs, and the tides can be unpredictable. But patience and persistence paid off, and we managed to pull up some real beauties! One in particular was an absolute beast, a thick, rusty blue crab that put up a fight. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of seeing that ring trap surface with a keeper inside! After a few hours of soaking traps, we packed up and headed back to the house to prepare our hard-earned feast. There’s something special about harvesting your own seafood—it makes every bite taste better. We boiled up the crabs, cracked into the sweet, tender meat, and enjoyed the rewards of a cold day on the water. If you love crabbing, winter fishing, or just watching an exciting catch-and-cook, you won’t want to miss this one!
