In today's video, we will sow seeds for my cut flower garden using the Winter Sowing method. I garden in Zone 6b/7a and now is the perfect time to start your seeds to get seedlings in March and early blooms. If you don't have an ideal setup to sow seeds inside such as a dedicated space, heating trays, lamps, and shelves. This method is cost-effective and perfect for you.

Here are Some TIPS for a Successful Winter Sowing:
Remember to create drainage holes at the bottom of your jugs; Remove the caps from the jugs; Moisten your soil; Sow the seeds according to the seed packet instructions; Place the jugs where they will get sunlight and be exposed to the natural elements of nature (rain, snow); If you do not get rain/snow, use a spray bottle to spray the water in the opening top of the jugs. This will keep the soil moist; In Early Spring, unwrap the tape from the jugs and once your ground is not frozen, transplant your seedlings in their permanent spots. No need to harden off the seedlings as they were already exposed to the natural elements of nature. IN-DEPTH TUTORIAL VIDEO - Winter Seed Sowing in Jugs
