Wood Burning - Mandala Dragonfly pyrography tutorial

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this pyrography episode, I will explain how to create my Mandala Dragonfly artwork. The dragonfly and corners were created via wood burning. The background is mostly colored pencils and a tiny amount of ink. Note. At the 10:13 mark I state that the outer edges should be darker than the inner. That was an oops. Instead it should be the outer edges are lighter in color than the inner. The same thing happens at the 17:05 time stamp. At least I was consistent with my oops. :) My website has a blog containing information this video doesn't have. The video contains a lot of information that the blog doesn't. Also, the blog has the free pattern that you can use for this artwork. Here's a link to the blog: https://wp.me/p8j0lZ-8yU COLORED PENCILS: All of the colored pencils are by Prismacolor Black # 935 Dark Grey # 747 1/2 - this from the Verithin line of Prismacolor colored pencils French Gray 10% # 1068 French Gray 20% # 1069 Warm Gray 20% # 1051 Warm Gray 30% # 1052 Warm Gray 50% # 1054 White # 938 PRODUCTS USED: I used a cheap wooden craft box that I most likely got at Michaels. Here’s a link to one that is very similar to what I used: https://www.michaels.com/product/85-wood-flat-box-by-make-market-10357774 I do no recommend using a box that has a pine top. Pine is not fun to burn on. It doesn't burn evening and has a tendency to ooze sap. At least that's what I've experienced. The below links are Amazon affiliate links. The brand I use isn't something I have found on Amazon. Quite truthfully, I would use diluted watercolor or fountain pen ink instead of airbrush paint because airbrush paint has limited applications. * I have not tried this ink. I found it on Amazon and it had good reviews.
