Part one details how to build a 1:20.3 scale wood truss bridge on an outdoor railroad.
We had always planned a detailed wood truss bridge near the Never Mine at the north end of our garden (outdoor elevated) railroad. The time has come! As it's way too hot to work outside, 101º F, we are working inside on the bridge for outside. Taking the structures out to check alignment and working inside with the AC cranked!
The bridge is mostly red cedar with some basswood. Everything is bolted together as well as glued. Critical joints are glued with Gorilla Ultimate Outdoor glue. As well as bolted!
Part one covers the building of the wood truss. Part two covers truss rods, track, guard rails, and stain-paint.
