I recently got a fairly large log to chop up for fire wood, the smell while chain sawing it was amazing so I thought I would turn a chunk and see what it was like. Apart from giving my workshop a nice smell the piece had lots more character than I expected.
I turned a thin walled bowl which I'm hoping will warp as it dries and coated it with Mineral Oil..
I've been told since that the wood is Scots Pine, I'm wishing that I hadn't chopped the rest up now !!
