डॉ. शबनम शेख... एक मुस्लिम मुलगी, परंपरेचे जोखड झुगारुन हाडाची कुस्तीपटू बनली... तिने फक्त कुस्तीचं मैदान मारलं नाही, तर आज भारताच्या महिला कुस्तीगिरांना घडवणारी महाराष्ट्रातील पहिली महिला कोच ती बनली. पण तिचा हा प्रवास सोपा नव्हता. गावातील शेजारी, नातेवाईकांचे टोमणे सहन करुनही शबनम कुस्तीच्या मैदानात खंबीरपणे उभी राहिली, जेंव्हा-जेंव्हा ती कुस्ती खेळायची तेंव्हा तिचा सामना फक्त प्रतिस्पर्धी खेळाडूशी नाही तर तिच्याकडे वेगळ्या तऱ्हेनं बघणाऱ्या नजरांशीही असायचा. आई-वडीलांच्या पाठींब्याच्या जोरावर तिने समाजाची परवा न करता, कुस्तीच आपलं भवितव्य बनवलं. शबनम अंतराष्ट्रीय स्तरावरील महिला कुस्तीपटूंना घडवणारी कोच बनली खरी, पण तिचा संघर्ष काही संपलेला नाही. ज्या कुस्तीने तिला ओळख दिली, तिच कुस्ती आज तिच्या लग्नात अडथळा ठरतीय. कितीतरी चौकटी मोडून आलेल्या शबनमची ही संघर्षमय कथा महाराराषट्रातील गाव-खेड्यातील मुलींना प्रेरित करते. आपल्याला ऑलिम्पीक पदक मिळवता आलं नसलं,
तरी नव्या महिला कुस्तीपटूंना ट्रेन करुन ऑलिम्पीकमध्ये गोल्ड अणायचं स्वप्न आहे, अशा या कुस्तीच्या मैदानातील रणरागिनीला सलाम....
