On Feb. 10, 2025, XB-1 broke the sund barrier—again. Watch the recorded livestream of XB-1’s second supersonic test flight and hear a play-by-play with hosts Boom Founder and CEO Blake Scholl and Chief Flight Test Engineer Nick Sheryka. See XB-1 make 3 supersonic runs, including a Schlieren photography run to capture unique images of it breaking the sound barrier. During this flight, Chief Test Pilot Tristan “Geppetto” Brandenburg safely and successfully achieved Mach 1.18 (671 KTAS, 772 MPH) and a new max altitude of 36,514 ft.
