Welcome back to another movie reaction from our "Remember the 80's" series! A RIDICULOUSLY WACKY AND FUN FANTASY! The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1989) Reaction, Recap, Review! Adama returns to join Pete in watching another cult classic fantasy from the creators of Monty Python. During the "Age of Reason" of the late 18th century, the Turkish army lays siege to a European city where a theater production about the extraordinary heroics of famed German aristocrat, Baron Munchausen, is underway. A man steps forward to object that the performance is full of inaccuracies, claiming that he is the real Baron Munchausen. When the Turkish army approaches with gunfire, the baron undertakes his latest adventure with his promise to save the city. This movie was directed by the one and only Terry Gilliam (Monty Python and The Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas). In true Gilliam fashion, he delivers a wonderful fantasy that at times borders on the absurd but nonetheless, sparks the imagination of all ages. An outstanding cast (with notable performances by late greats Robin Williams and Oliver Reed), beautiful storytelling, and amazing visual effects especially for the 80s!
