ローダウンモデルのフロントフォークサスペンションを改善していきます。
そもそもハーレーダビッドソンのフロントサスペンションはバネが非常に柔らかく、底付きしないようにダンバーは固くセットされています。
アメリカの広大な土地をまっすぐ走るだけなら十分な性能ですが、日本の道路事情だと話は別。
特にローダウンモデルはとにかく底付きしないよう、ガチガチに固められています。そもそも日本人とアメリカ人では体格が全く違うので、そこまでガチガチに固くする必要はありません。
フロントフォークがフルボトムした際に接触しなければいいので、なるべくストローク量は増やしたいところ。そこを改善すべく、作業を進めていきます。

To begin with, Harley-Davidson's front suspension has very soft springs and the dampers are set hard to prevent bottoming out.
This performance is sufficient for driving straight across the vast expanses of the United States, but it is a different story for Japanese road conditions.
The lowered models, in particular, are stiffly set to prevent bottoming out. To begin with, Japanese and Americans have completely different physiques, so there is no need to stiffen them up so much.
We want to increase the amount of stroke as much as possible, as long as the front forks do not make contact when they are fully bottomed out. We will work to improve this.
