山形県河北町の紅花資料館をご紹介します。
河北町の花として指定されている紅花は、江戸時代には、「最上紅花」の集散地となり、生産が盛んに行われていたそうです。
摘み取られた紅花は、京都へ送られ、盛んに商売が行われていました。
こちらの資料館はその紅花の豪商だった堀米四郎兵衛邸の跡地となっており、展示物を通して紅花の歴史を学ぶことができます。

I introduce you to the Safflower Museum in Kahoku, Yamagata Prefecture.
Safflower, designated as the flower of Kahoku town, was a distribution center for "Mogami safflower" during the Edo period, and production was thriving.
Safflower was picked and sent to Kyoto, where it was sold thrivingly.
This museum is located on the former site of the residence of Horigome Shirobei, a wealthy safflower merchant, and you can learn about the history of safflower through the exhibits.
