In this video we demonstrate how to change the oil on a 2007-2008 Yamaha R1. It is relatively similar for other generations and models years as well.
The reason we use Rotella T6 is because it is one of the most widely available full synthetic oils that is Jaso MA approved, and that means that it is okay to be used in wet clutch systems such as the Yamaha R1.
Tools needed are a 4MM allen wrench, 17MM wrench or ratchet, and 3.1 quarts of oil.
