コルビュジエの弟子としてパリの事務所で働き、帰国後はアントニン・レーモンドの元で学び、戦前・戦後の日本のモダニズム建築のパイオニアとなった前川國男。丹下健三、木村俊彦は前川事務所の出身である。「山梨県立美術館」は1978年竣工。ミレーの作品を多数収蔵し、「ミレーの美術館」として親しまれている。

Kunio Maekawa worked as a disciple of Le Corbusier at his Paris office, and after returning to Japan he studied under Antonin Raymond, becoming a pioneer of pre- and post-war Japanese modernist architecture. Kenzo Tange and Toshihiko Kimura are also graduates of Maekawa's office. The Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art was completed in 1978. It houses many of Millet's works and is affectionately known as the Millet Museum.
