An old man was afraid of dying. He thought every day, "What will happen if I die? Will my soul wander? Will my reckoning be severe?"
One day he went to a wise man and told his heart. The wise man smiled and said, "Do you do good deeds in life?"
The old man bowed his head and replied, "Yes, I pray, I do not violate anyone's rights, I help others."
The wise man said, "Then what is there to fear? Death is a bridge that will take you closer to your Lord. If you have done good deeds, love death, because it will take you to your reward."
When the old man heard this, his heart was satisfied. After that day, he began to enjoy living and was free from the fear of death.

ایک بزرگ آدمی مرنے سے ڈرتا تھا۔ وہ ہر روز یہی سوچتا کہ اگر میں مر گیا تو کیا ہوگا؟ کیا میری روح بھٹک جائے گی؟ کیا میرا حساب سخت ہوگا؟
ایک دن وہ ایک دانا شخص کے پاس گیا اور اپنے دل کی بات کہہ دی۔ دانا شخص مسکرایا اور کہا:
"کیا تم زندگی میں اچھے کام کرتے ہو؟"
بزرگ آدمی نے سر جھکا کر جواب دیا: "ہاں، میں نماز پڑھتا ہوں، کسی کا حق نہیں مارتا، دوسروں کی مدد کرتا ہوں۔"
دانا شخص نے کہا:
"تو پھر ڈر کس بات کا؟ موت ایک پل ہے، جو تمہیں تمہارے رب کے قریب لے جائے گی۔ اگر تم نے اچھے اعمال کیے ہیں تو موت سے محبت کرو، کیونکہ وہ تمہیں تمہارے انعام تک پہنچائے گی۔"
بزرگ آدمی نے یہ سنا تو اس کا دل مطمئن ہوگیا۔ اس دن کے بعد وہ جینے میں بھی خوش ہونے لگا اور مرنے کے خوف سے بھی آزاد ہوگیا۔
