Yong Xu — Creating Independent Development Tools: The Gitee Experience

In response to the blocking of Russian repositories on international platforms, Russian developers are actively working on creating independent software for hosting their projects, such as IDEs, Git hosting services, community services, and more. In China, we already have a successful example of creating our own platform — Gitee. It is designed for hosting source code repositories. On the platform, developers host their projects, manage code versions, and collaborate with other developers.

Yong Xu shares the story of the project's creation, the evolution of the system, how community interaction is built, the tools the platform provides to developers, and what the future holds for these technologies. The topic of integrating the platform with artificial intelligence is also addressed.
