You Can’t Be Present If You’re Still Holding Onto the Past

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

This video explores the idea of metabolizing experience—both past and present—as a process of healing and transformation. Using digestion as a metaphor, it explains how undigested past experiences remain within us, manifesting as wounds, grievances, or shadows. These unresolved emotions shape our behavior, relationships, and even physical health. The inability to fully process experiences can result in emotional reactivity, addiction, and even physical ailments like gut issues or autoimmune conditions. Life inevitably brings unresolved issues to the surface, challenging our attempts to avoid them. The key to freedom is not suppression but assimilation—fully allowing experiences, both painful and joyful, to be digested, absorbed, and ultimately released. Without this process, we continue to meet life through the lens of the past rather than from fresh presence. The invitation is to consciously face, meet, and release these experiences, again and again, deepening our capacity to be present. By doing so, we cultivate a more whole, vibrant, and awakened way of being.
