The most common type of question I get is "what is the best (insert bike or bike component here). I know you hate to hear it, but there is no "best" fixed gear. People have different needs and different tastes, and that's the beauty of building up bikes: seeing people's preferences and how it manifests into a bike build that best suits their needs.
Even more important than focusing on getting the "best" bike possible is remembering why you want a bike in the first place: it makes you feel good, it keeps you healthy, it allows you to make unforgettable life memories and make lifelong friends. What you do with your bike is way more important than the bike itself. I've ridden a few fixed gears in my time, and I've loved every single one of them even if some of them were sub-optimal. They allowed me to live my life the way I wanted to live, and that's what counts. Ride what you love!
