Fun & Interesting

You're probably not using your Schwalbe Alberts correctly (if you're aggressive).

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Is the radial casing that supple? Yes. But does that mean you should try to get it to be as supple as possible? Probably not. If you run the Schwalbe Albert at too low of a pressure, it's going to feel draggy. The beauty of the Albert is being able to run enough air pressure to protect your rims while the tire still feeling like it is at what would be an ideal-but-too-risky pressure for other tires. These roll quickly at the right psi. MTB tires don't roll quickly at 12 PSI. There's a window, and trying to run the Alberts at the same pressure as all your other tires is not going to work. It will make the bumps disappear, but it will be draggy. Pump them up 4-5 psi beyond your norm and you'll get more roll speed, protection and still maintain equal grip and good bump absorption.
ALSO these tires do run narrow so if you like 2.4-2.5, and the 2.5s are hard to come by, I would not hesitate to buy the 2.6. It will also have a slightly more open trade pattern which would probably help it as an all-rounder.
And another thing: I paid retail for these. Schwalbe doesn't know I exist. #schwalbe
