More Zelda!! \(^-^)/ Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda game I ever played and I always loved the tunes you play on the ocarina in that game. So I learned a few on my harp. But I was always a bit sad, that some of the tunes are so short to play and it did not feel nice to upload a 30sec video on youtube, so I got the idea to just put all the ocarina tunes in one medley and create an Ocarina Medley! ^-^ So I looked up for arrangments and made my own for all tunes and put them in an order which I thought would fit well and would be playable.
I tried to tell a bit of a story here too. Starting with the Title Theme, with which you start the game, going over to meeting Zelda and Marlon and Saria, with the "Song of the Sun" as an intro for the faster Song of Saria "Lost Woods". I also thought after traveling so long to meet Zelda and Marlon, it is surely night and we need daytime again to meet up with Saria ;) These people you also all meet as a child in the game. Then we have a storm coming up with "Song of Storms". The world turns darker. So we travel to the temple of time with the "Prelude of Light" and open the door of time with the "Song of Time". Now all the temple tunes follow, in order you go through the temples in the game. Also starting from a in my opinion more bright song like "Minuet of Forest", going to the darker songs like "Nocturne of Shadows" in the end. But we are able to solve all puzzles and defeat all enemies, so we win and the end the story with the iconic Theme of the series. The Victory of the Hero Theme (which I love to call it in my mind) This tune is actually never played in Ocarina of Time, but in all other Zelda games as far as I know and I loved that song. So I really wanted to include it, and I think this short version fits so well to the end of the medley.
To give all a bit more color I used the long versions for "Epona's Song" and "Saria's Song", which are "LonLon Farm" and "Lost Woods". Speaking of "Lost Woods", this song was really a literal pain to record xD It is so fast, so my left hand hurt a lot after 15min I was recording this. I hope it still turned out okay.
Also sorry for all background sounds you hear in "Nocturne of Shadows" I had to change pedals of my harp every second beat in that tune, because it has so many chromatic changes. It was really a challenge to even get to play it on harp. Sometimes I thought it was impossible, but I managed it and I am really happy for that.
The "Main Theme" at the end was really difficult to learn too, but so much fun to play. Even though I felt like dancing during it, because in one bar I had to change 5 pedals very quickly. Sometimes I wish I would have more feet for songs like that ^^" There are probably a lot more things I could tell you about this medley, as I really love it and put a lot of work into it, but I think this text is getting too long xD So Thank You very much for reading until now.
