Oh, how I long for every passionate lover
Who honored the faith of Islam with his life's blood
Oh, how I long for the palm tree where “Maytham” was hanged
Oh, how I long for the companions of Muharram
For the tears of Muharram
And I swear that I am a captive of Muharram

عمري اسير يوم كان به وحيد
قلبي اسير قلب الزهراء على الصعيد
كفي اسيرة التي جروها بالحديد
نحري اسير حد السيف مع الوريد
My life became captive from the day He (Imam Hussein) stood alone
My heart is bound to Fatima’s heart on the battlefield
My hands are captive to those who dragged Her (Lady Zainab) with chains
My neck is held captive by the sword's edge, marked by Hussein's severed veins.

الهبت ثورة
ابدية لاجل الدين والعترة
عThe legacy of my ancestors
The faith of my children
That is Karbala, the meaning of my survival and mar//tyrdom
Its remembrance is a burning ember
Igniting a revolution
Eternal for the sake of religion and the lineage of the Prophet's Household.

احيي.. عزا اهل البيت
انعى و اندب مولاي
كنت بكربلا يا ليت
بنفسي لبيت
باهلي لبيت
بولدي لبيت
A legacy upon which I was raised
I revive the mourning of Ahl al-Bayt
I mourn and lament my master
If only I had been in Karbala
I would have been there, sacrificing myself
I would have been there, sacrificing my family
I would have been there, sacrificing my children

اقسمت بفضائلْ قل هو الله احد
لبيك يا حسين بالاهل و الولد
مولاي ليته الشمر على صدري صعد
ثم تراني امي راسا بلا جسد
I swore by the virtues of the verse: "Say He is Allah, the One"
Here I am, O Hussein, with my family and children
My master, I wish Shimmer had climbed on my chest instead of yours,
So that my mother would see me as a headless body, not you.

عندنا الارثُ
شمر لو يجثو
فوق صدري يبقى ذكري يا حسين مولاي
عندنا العادة
يعرف القادة
بالثغور بالنحور يا حسين مولاي
We have the legacy;
Even if Shimmer were to kneel upon my chest,
I would forever remember and call out, "O Hussein, my master."
We uphold the tradition;
And the leaders know
That we stand firm at the frontiers and sacrifice our necks for the cause of "O Hussein, my master”

ليس مجرد قبر
لو ما..نطقت بسري
ساراك…بحالي تدري
و تجبر كسري
و تقبل عذري
و تصلح امري
A tribute to your holy shrine, I am a traveler;
This is more than just a grave.
If I were to speak in secret,
You would see and understand my true condition.
You would heal my brokenness,
Accept my apology,
And set my affairs right.

Is that mourning for you revives a nation within every home
O master of martyrdom, O source of life
How can you be considered dead when a marty/r never dies?
