طال النوى والشوق جارح.. عسانا نراكَ ترانا
The separation has endured, and longing wounds deeply… hoping to see you and you see us.
وصالحٌ ما بعد صالح.. وطولُ الفراقِ كوانا
One righteous after another has passed …. and the prolonged separation burns us.
ندعوكَ إذ عزّ اللقاءُ... ترَفَّق بِنا يا أبانا
We call upon you, for meeting you is so dear to us … grant us your forbearance, O our father.
عجّل علينا يا با صالح.. وهذا نداءُ الحَزانى
Hasten your reappearance, O Aba Saleh (Imam al-Mahdi) … for this is the plea of the sorrowful ones.
يا إمامي
O my Imam,
أي متى تأتي إلينا
When will you come to us?
جارت الدنيا علينا
The world has turned against us
ومتى غابَ الأمينُ
When the Secretary-General passed,
بينَ كفّيكَ بَكَينا
We wept between your hands.
ندعو إذ طال الصدى
We call out as the echoes grow long:
يا مهدي يا مهدي يا مهدي
O Mahdi, O Mahdi, O Mahdi!
أينهُ ناشرُ رايةِ الهدى
Where is the bearer of the banner of guidance?
يا مهدي يا مهدي يا مهدي
O Mahdi, O Mahdi, O Mahdi!
يا مهدي يا مهدي يا مهدي
O Mahdi, O Mahdi, O Mahdi!
ظهرَ الشركُ والفسادُ
Polytheism and corruption have emerged,
تستغيثُ بك العبادُ
Your servants cry out for your help.
عجِّلَن يابن الأولياءِ
Hasten your reappearance, O son of the allies of Allah,
علّها تزهر البلاد
That the lands may blossom once more
جميعُنا يحيى انتظارَك.. إليكَ نعُدُّ الليالي
We all live in anticipation of your return... counting the nights as they pass.
فقم وأسبِل ذالفقارَك.. ليلمَعَ فوقَ المعالي
So rise and unsheath your Dhul-Fiqar (the sword of Imam Ali) ... let it gleam atop the heights.
وأسند الظهرَ ونادِ.. بصوتِ حنينِ الليالي
Lean on your strength and call out... with the voice of longing through the nights.
واطلُب ايا مولاي ثارَك.. لتفديكَ كلُّ العيالِ
And demand your vengeance, O my master... for every soul will be sacrificed for you.
يا إمامي
O my Imam,
أينَك حاضراً تحفُّ
Where are you, present among us
معنا أنجُماً تزفُّ
Surrounded by stars that celebrate you
نبحثُ عنك في الصفوفِ
We search for you in the rows
أين لواك هل يرفُّ
Where is your banner? Is it waving?
أين الطالب الغيور
Where is the devoted seeker of vengeance?
يا مهدي يا مهدي يا مهدي
O Mahdi, O Mahdi, O Mahdi
جندُ الندبةِ والعهدِ نبقى للظهور
We remain loyal to Dua al-Nudba and Dua al-Ahd, devoted to your reappearance
يا مهدي يا مهدي يا مهدي
O Mahdi, O Mahdi, O Mahdi,
يا مهدي يا مهدي يا مهدي
O Mahdi, O Mahdi, O Mahdi!
ها همُ جندُكَ الغيارى
Here are your devoted soldiers,
خلّفوا الأهلَ والديارَا
Leaving behind their families and homes,
في هواكم وفي رضاكم
In your love and in your satisfaction,
عبروا نحوكَ انتصارا
They march toward you, victorious.
